La Pieve
La Pieve at San Cristoforo, a carefully restored 18th-century rural chapel set in outstanding countryside, provides a romantic getaway for two with over 55 square metres (590 square feet) of floor space. Photo below shows exterior of chapel.

We have kept the old chapel with its pair of arches and four-metre high pitched ceiling as the striking main living space. Photo below shows part of main living area of La Pieve with two double sofas, and the old confessional on the right at the back.

The well-equipped kitchen/dining area takes up the end third of the space. From here a pair of half-glazed french doors opens on to a large, private terrace overlooking our vines and vegetable garden with uninterrupted views of delightful rolling hills. Photo below shows part of main living area with kitchen at back (reverse view from picture above).

The rest of the chapel is equipped as a living area with two comfortable sofas, writing desk and bookshelves as well as a wood-burning stove for colder weather. The photo below shows the kitchen area in detail.

The former sacristy at the back of the chapel has been made into a double bedroom (see photo below) with an en suite bathroom.

The chapel is attached to our own house but walls over a metre thick assure good sound insulation. Moreover, the chapel and its garden face in the opposite direction to our own living spaces thus assuring privacy. Photo below shows terrace with French doors from kitchen area.
